About this project and how it came to be

ZIP 2019 is an independent inquiry project that allows students to follow a passion they would like to further investigate (telescoping around the english subject). This project required me to explore and expand upon many digital design software and resources. An overview of what I chose to investigate is the process and regiment a writer has to go through to publish a book (my topic was the Impact and Origin of Photography). The largest aspect of my research to create the book was designing and drafting the overall look and appeal of the book itself. To do this I made the template with the images, headers, and captions then put in the text. The design included the detailed margins necessary for printing, specific settings for the body, footers,  headers, subtitles and titles, size of textboxes in contrast to the images and page size, etc. The digital design software I used are Pages, InDesign, Keynote and Photoshop. I also had to work with Blurb which was the printing and publishing software for producing the book.
